Providing music activities for schools
Meeting National Curriculum requirements for
Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
The Musical Farmhouse provides music activities for children of all ages, and we would like to bring these activities to the children at your school.
The Musical Farmhouse songs are all penned by a professional musician which are written especially to aid the teaching of music. Our large range of tuned and un-tuned instruments, puppets and props directed by a qualified primary school provide pupils withgreat educational value which hugely enjoyable.

We can provide you with regular classes, one off workshops, after-school clubs or fun, educational day trips to The Musical Farmhouse. Based on a farm near Launceston, Conrwall we have our own teaching room and recording studio.
Meeting National Curriculum requirements from Foundation Stage to Key Stage 2, we have embedded all the requirements we can of the music curriculum into a farm and animal theme, and on this basis we can:
- develop confidence in exploring and expressing children’s ideas and feelings using singing and playing instruments,
- control sounds through singing and playing, enhancing performing skills,
- play tuned and un-tuned instruments, rehearsing and performing with others,
- encourage older children to learn control of pitch and develop rhythmic accuracy.
Children can enjoy:
- finding and exploring musical patterns and matching movements, with opportunity for improvisation and developing ideas,
- recalling sounds using aural memory, learning and experimenting with symbols to represent sounds they make, and start to notate musical ideas, sounds and symbols of their own.
We have the facilities for students to record music played and work written; an ideal way to boost self esteem and develop musical and songwriting talent.
You could even fundraise for your school by making a school single!
All of our activities are able to take place at your school, and we can arrange for our staff to visit with instruments and props and also our mobile recording equipment.
Music activities taking place at The Musical Farmhouse have the added benefit for the children being able to meet, hold and feed the animals that we have sung and played about in the music sessions.
We would be happy to meet with you and talk through your requirements, so please do not hesitate to email or call us on 01566 785400
